Celebration on the occasion of 20 years of Slovenian independence
Members of the European Parliament from Slovenia congratulate the Slovenian citizens on the 20th anniversary of the proclamation of independence of the Republic of Slovenia.
Two decades of Independence, successfully completed projects when Slovenia joined the EU and NATO, the presidency of the UN Security Council, the EU Council and the Council of Europe, entering the euro and the Schengen area and our membership of the OECD promote, connect and commit us to the realization that Slovenia can achieve even more in the future. The future of Europe, of the European Union and our future within the European Union requires mutual respect, dialogue and cooperation.
The seven Slovenian Members of the European Parliamentm want, also on behalf of our political groups, to use its best efforts to contribute to the development and progress of the EU, all its Member States, candidate countries and future candidate countries, and to the well-being of all citizens.
We want to strengthen and broaden the confidence in the ability, maturity and determination of our society to seek solutions and implement them together in the well-being of Slovenia and of the European Union.
